Retie is the process of maintaining locs, in which

Retie is the process of maintaining locs, in which the new growth is tightened using the interlocking method.

How often should you get a retie? We recommend reties every 4-6 weeks, although matured locs may stretch to 8 weeks.

How long is the service? It varies depending on the client’s hair thickness/amount of locs, but most of our retie services averages around 3-4 hours total (including washing and conditioning).

PS - we add our @epichairsolutions Epic Majik Oil to this service for added moisture and shine.

A big part of what we do at the salon is continue to learn. As professional hairstylists continuing education is key to growth, you should never stop learning in this industry.

In our class with @avlon products we went back to the old school relaxer with a new twist. The Affirm FiberGuard Relaxer System. Hands down a 10 out of 10 system! The hair felt so smooth after the wash.

Our educator @daisyhairstudio was soooo amazing! She was very knowledgeable on all the products, and even though we were using the new relaxer system she took the time out to educate us on the use of the entire product line.

Yes relaxers can still be healthy. We still have a small percentage of relaxer clients, and it is our goal to make sure their relaxed hair is still healthy.

This was such a great class. Thank you @avlon for offering such great products and continuing education.
